Keep the adventures in the book and the money conversations at home. Money HQ is an optional tracker for parents and caregivers to record their family’s Star-Dollars (ST$). ST$ are pretend learning money; this tool does not hold or transfer real money.

Get started

1. Create your parent account or log in. Use your own email address and follow the email verification instructions. Children do not need an email address or their own account.
2. Activate your book. Enter the reader activation code you were given and select Activate Allowance. You can also find activation under My books.
3. Add a child’s nickname. Select + Add child, enter a nickname, then select Add profile. Tap the child’s name to open their dashboard. You can add more than one child to your account.

Track the three jars

Choose the child’s name before recording anything. Use Spend for everyday choices, Save for a future goal, and Give for helping others.

• + Add: record ST$ received, such as an allowance or gift. Choose the amount and destination jar.
• − Spend: record ST$ used from the selected jar.
• ↔ Move: transfer ST$ between jars. The child’s total stays the same.

Keep the tracker in step with your physical Star-Dollars. Check Money history to review entries, and look for Saved to your account. after making a change.

Complete a Money Mission

1. Agree on the job and reward together. Under Money Missions, select + New and save the mission.
2. After the job is done, select Mark work completed. The parent checks the work and selects Parent: approve.
3. Choose the destination jar, select Record payday, and confirm. This adds the reward to that jar automatically. Do not add the same reward again with + Add.

Set a goal and talk it through

Select Set goal, choose a picture, name the goal, and enter its ST$ target. Progress follows the Save jar balance.

Finish with a quick conversation: “What did you choose? How close are you to your goal? What would you do next time?” Then head back to the book and your next activity together.
